About Edinburgh Airport

Edinburgh airport is located at 8 miles (12 km) west of Edinburgh, Scotland, near Newbridge, Kirkliston and Cramond.
The airport is managed and owned by BAA-British Airports Authority , is the busiest airport in Scotland and the sixth busiest airport in UK.

In 2010 has handled almost 8.6 million passengers and with the plans of expansion, it is expected to reach more than 26 million passengers per year, in 2030. The future plans include terminal expansions with more facilities that will make the passengers trip more pleasurable. That will also provide almost 10,000 new jobs for the people who live around and will help Edinburgh to grow its tourist industry.
Edinburgh's airport serves more than 90 destinations in UK, European cities, including US and Asian destinations.

The control tower dates from 2005 and is very famous for its architecture that has a contemporary style. The airport's building has only one terminal. On the ground floor is situated Arrivals and on the first floor you can find the Departures and a big part of the shopping facilities.
Regarding the transportation, to and from the airport, it is provided by Lothian Buses, with the Airlink 100 Express which you can find it in the city center of Edinburgh. Even more you have local bus services, limousines, taxi and car rental. Currently, there is no direct rail that goes to the airport, because the project “Edinburgh Airport Rail Link” has been canceled due to funding problems, in 2007.
